Lifetouch Production, Inc.
The Lifetouch story began in 1936 when two young entrepreneurs, Bruce Reinecker and Eldon Rothgeb, made plans to bring “School Photography of Distinction” to one-room schoolhouses throughout rural Minnesota. A little more than a decade after its founding, Lifetouch had become the largest school photography firm in the country. In 1994, Lifetouch entered the school yearbook business to leverage their success with school photography. Two modern and efficient book manufacturing plants were built during the 1990s to bring the service, speed, and quality previously unavailable for school yearbooks. In 2008, Lifetouch became Four Colour Print Grou's preferred print partner p to bring this same level of precision to educational and trade publishers at prices rivaling Asian competitors. Today, the company remains privately held as a 100% employee owned enterprise, a legacy of the founder's commitment to their employees and customers.
The Lifetouch press team strives for excellence in print beginning with our advanced computer-to-plate technology. We operate 4, 5, and 8 color sheet-fed Heidelberg offset presses capable of exceptional print quality and running at some of the fastest press speeds available today, as well as Indigo digital presses for superior reproduction in an on-demand environment. We own two of the most modern, fully equipped binderies in the nation, featuring high-speed smythe sewing, hard-cover casebinding, and a full array of softcover binding machinery. As innovative book manufacturing professionals, we have brought the famed "6-Sigma" quality control techniques to both our plants, and strive for incremental improvement on a daily basis. Our customers find we regularly exceed their expectations and achieve completely satisfying results.
